As communities begin to feel the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), I want to share with you the steps we’re taking at AdCare Educational Institute of Maine, Inc., to help protect the health and safety of our workshop and conference participants and our staff. This is a top priority for our organization, these measures will help us meet this important objective.
We’re closely monitoring local and national reports on the evolving impact of COVID-19 and, based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization and applicable public health agencies. We’re asking all of our employees to follow the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of the infection. We strongly encourage everyone to follow these guidelines, including if you plan on participating in an upcoming AdCare workshop or conference.
Until further notice, and starting immediately, AdCare is suspending its cancellation policy, which includes an admin fee for late cancellations and enforcing the full registration fee for individuals who registered for an event but don’t attend. If you are registered for an event, but are not feeling well, we strongly encourage you to not attend. Simply notify the AdCare staff coordinating the event, and your full registration fee will be refunded, no questions asked.
We know that many individuals attend our trainings to acquire CEUs for certification and recertification purposes. Be assured AdCare Maine continues to offer many trainings, over 100, every year. If you need to miss an event due to illness, our staff will be more than happy to let you know of other, future trainings that will meet your CEU needs.
Additionally, AdCare has implemented guidelines internally that instruct any of our employees who may develop symptoms or come into contact with infected individuals to stay home, contact their healthcare provider and follow the CDC’s instructions. We would strongly encourage anyone registered to attend one of our events to do the same.
Again, the health and safety of our employees and participants are our top priority and we’re committed to doing our part to help keep everyone safe.
Please go to the CDC website for more information and current updates on COVID-19 and the Maine CDC website for local information about COVID-19.
