AdCare Educational Institute of Maine, Inc., has been closely monitoring the quickly evolving developments related to COVID-19, also commonly referred to as the coronavirus. AdCare Maine has been meeting internally to create a contingency plan of operations that will protect the health and safety of our training participants, and our staff, while also allowing programming to continue to go forward to meet the educational and training needs of Maine’s behavioral health fields. To inform our decision-making process, we are following data and guidance from the U.S. and Maine Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization and other top public health agencies and experts. The health and safety of our trainers, participants, and staff is our top priority.
Our organization is taking a proactive and preventative approach to assist with the statewide efforts to decrease the exposure and community transmission of COVID-19. To this end, effective March 11, 2020, AdCare is revising its training schedule and suspending in-person trainings for the months of March and April. In-person trainings that were scheduled for March and April are either being re-scheduled to a later date, or transitioned into an online, webinar format.
We know that many individuals attend our trainings to acquire CEUs for licensing and credentialing purposes. Our goal is to protect your health and safety while still moving forward with training opportunities to minimize disruptions in the ability to acquire the training hours you need for your license or credential. We will continue to monitor developments to inform any alterations we may need to make to training events for May or June. If there are any future alterations in trainings in those months we will issue a new letter with new guidance.
