Training Project Coordinator – AdCare Educational Institute of Maine, Inc.
AdCare Educational Institute of Maine, Inc. is expanding and seeking to hire a highly-motivated and experienced program coordinator to fill its new Training Project Coordinator position. This position will be part of a growing team responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of training and technical assistance services for Maine’s prevention workforce.
The Training Project Coordinator position supports the planning, coordination, and staffing of prevention trainings and other Maine prevention workforce development initiatives. This position will assist with technical assistance services for state-funded sites implementing the Student Intervention and Reintegration Program and Universal Prime for Life program.
Additionally, this position will provide technical assistance for Maine’s Methamphetamine Task Force and coordinate training and technical assistance for a new Opioid and Stimulant prevention stakeholder group. This position will also provide technical support for the administration of the Maine Prevention Certification Board and facilitate Maine’s Prevention Workforce Development workgroup.

- Support the planning and implementation of technical assistance, training, and other skill building projects that serve Maine’s prevention workforce and stakeholders
- Provide technical assistance and support to Maine’s Methamphetamine Task Force
- Convene and provide training and technical assistance to the Maine Opioid and Stimulant Prevention stake holder group
- Support the coordination of the Maine state-funded SIRP expansion project
- Support administration of Maine Prevention Certification Board credentialing system
- Convene the Maine Prevention Workforce Development Workgroup
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preference in fields of public health, behavioral health, and related fields. Preference will be given to applicants who possess a Provisional Prevention Specialist or Certified Prevention Specialist Certification.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Position requires knowledge in the areas of education, prevention, and behavioral health. Necessary skills include training event planning and management, group facilitation, communications, data collection, technical writing, database management, and utilization of new media. Position requires ability to work independently, problem solve, and provide good client and customer support. Experience with the Prime For Life prevention curriculum is a plus!
Experience: 3-5 years experience in prevention, public health, or behavioral health programming coordination preferred
Travel: 25% Travel within 60 mile radius of Augusta is expected, with occasional 10% statewide travel beyond 60 mile radius of Augusta. Currently, travel requirement is suspended during COVID pandemic.
Technical requirements: Position will begin as a work-from-home position. Reliable internet service is required for attending staff meetings, hosting virtual training sessions, meetings, and other outreach and technical assistance services.
Supervision: Position reports to AdCare Maine Associate Executive Director.
Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and move a maximum of 40lbs.; position requires sitting, standing, bending, and repetitive movements.

This position will begin as a remote-work position temporarily. Once COVID restrictions have passed we expect the position to transfer to our AdCare Maine offices in Augusta, Maine
