Congratulations! Scott Gagnon, MPP, PS-C Honored with Dual Prevention Professional Awards

Please join us in congratulating Scott Gagnon, MPP, PS-C on his recent dual Prevention Professional of the Year Awards. Scott is a Certified Prevention Specialist and has been a professional in the field of substance use prevention for over 18 years. Scott’s roots are in community-based prevention. Scott was the Associate Executive Director of AdCare Educational Institute of Maine, Inc., headquartered in Augusta, Maine. Scott led an innovative and nationally renowned PTTC team that developed cutting-edge, evidence-based prevention technical assistance programs and products. Scott has extensive subject matter expertise in the area of cannabis policy and prevention and experience in gambling addiction and problem gambling. Scott most recently joined SAMHSA, as the Regional Director serving Region 1: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont and 10 sovereign Tribal Nations. The recognized individual will have demonstrated a deep commitment and broad orientation to health promotion and disease prevention that extends beyond their specific profession or field of interest.

The IC&RC Prevention Professional of the Year Award honors the best of the best:  the certified preventionist who best embodies the ideal of the profession and of IC&RC.  The Prevention Committee of IC&RC accepts nominations from member boards, and then selects the awardee from among the submissions.  The recipient is honored at a state or national conference.
