All of us at AdCare are tremendously happy to share that Nathaniel Riethmann reached his 15-year anniversary with us on December 14. Nate came to AdCare filling in as a per diem employee in a vacant Health Alert Network Coordinator position under a contract held with the Maine CDC. It was quickly noticed that he was an extraordinary talent. About a month later, he was hired on in a full-time capacity and began applying his unique skillset and breadth of knowledge to the work of further building out and developing Maine CDC’s emergency communications system, dramatically increasing access and numbers of users, providing top-notch technical assistance to users, administrators, and even the vendor. His love of technology coupled with his aptitude for understanding how systems operate, and his “nerdery” made him indispensable.
As time went on, the needs of CDC grew, and the fullness of Nate’s abilities was applied to the work. The position became much richer than the Health Alert Network Coordinator and was transitioned to Emergency Communications Systems Coordinator. Nate solely manages several communications systems for Maine CDC from soup to nuts, along with an array of other work. When COVID arrived, the entirety of the staff working within the Maine CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness contract was thrust into what seemed an unending demand for data. Nate again proved himself to be indispensable, working with CDC leadership to meet every ask made of him. While doing so, he exceeded all expectations in his efforts to support the public health response while redefining the way his job was performed and taking on uncountable other tasks. While many found themselves in a workplace slowdown during COVID, that was not the case for Nate. His commitment to the very heavy lift that was involved in the Maine CDC public health response to COVID was exceptional.
There are many bragworthy qualities that Nate possesses that make him fantastic for his position and contribute to his success. Perhaps the one that has allowed him to remain so highly productive in what can be a stressful position is his ability to find brevity in any situation. And, to know Nate is to know that brevity is almost always coupled with humor. His longevity with AdCare supporting the Maine CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness contract is a great asset and his wit and humor make him someone that everyone enjoys working with.
As Nate reaches this 15-year milestone, AdCare would like to take a moment to share just how highly valued he is to this agency and what a great brand ambassador he has become. While Nate is brilliant in his position, he has also become a committed family man during his tenure. It is wonderful to see him excel in his work, but it has been a real pleasure to see him prioritize the needs of his wife and two children while approaching the needs of this position. It is a talent to balance work and family life, and Nate has found great success in this space.
Thank you, Nate! We appreciate you and your commitment to AdCare!
